Organic Henna Powder (Madayantika)

Henna or Mehndi (Lawsonia inermis) is an evergreen plant known as Madayantika in Ayurveda. The dried leaves of the plant are crushed and made into a fine powder, mixed with water to form a paste, and used as a natural hair pack. Its utilization dates to the Egyptian civilization where it was used to dye the hair and nails of Pharaohs. A natural coolant, henna powder helps to balance Pitta dosha and hence supports scalp health. Applying henna powder as a paste externally on the hair helps the natural strength of the hair. Regular use of henna helps the natural luster of hair and natural hair growth, imparting a very mild hue to the hair. The cooling effect of henna powder also aids balanced sleep and supports eye health.

SUGGESTED USE:

Henna is a versatile organic herb that can be used to support natural hair health.

• For Normal Hair - hydration & conditioning: mix Henna Powder with room temperature water and apply to scalp and hair as a mask. Leave on for 15 minutes. Massage and wash off with water.
• For a light burgundy color tint: mix Henna Powder with beetroot juice and apply to hair, including roots for even dispersion. Leave on for 20 minutes, and then wash off with room temperature water.
• For a brownish color tint: mix Henna Powder with a tea decoction, yogurt and lime juice. Apply to hair, including roots for even dispersions, and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash off with room temperature water.
